1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Fortify, we may collect:

• Account information — such as your email address when you sign in (including via email, Google, or Sign in with Apple).
• App usage data — which apps you use and how long you use them, to power tracking, insights, and goals.
• Focus & shield data — apps you choose to block, shield session times, streaks, and related wellbeing activity.
• Reflections & missions — mood check-ins, daily missions, XP, and progress you choose to record in the app.
• Settings & preferences — notification choices, goals, theme, and other in-app settings.
• Device information — basic technical data needed to run the app (such as OS version and app version).

3. Information we do not collect

Fortify is not designed to access the content inside your apps. We do not collect:

• Messages, emails, or chat content
• Passwords or credentials
• Web pages you visit or media you view
• Keystrokes, screenshots, or screen recordings
• Contacts, photos, or files from your device

4. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

• Provide core app features (tracking, focus shields, streaks, missions, and insights)
• Sync your progress across devices when you are signed in
• Send notifications you have opted into
• Improve app reliability, security, and user experience
• Respond to support requests

5. Local storage & cloud sync

When you are not signed in, your data stays on your device. When you sign in, selected data may be stored in the cloud (via Firebase) so it can sync across your devices. You can control some data collection preferences in the app's Privacy settings.

6. Screen Time & device permissions

On iOS, Fortify uses Apple's Screen Time APIs to help you block distracting apps during focus sessions. On Android, similar functionality uses system usage access. These permissions are used only to support focus and tracking features you enable — not to read app content.

7. Third-party services

Fortify uses trusted third-party services to operate, including:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, cloud database, remote configuration, and related backend services
• Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google
• Sign in with Apple — if you choose to sign in with Apple
• App stores — Google Play and Apple App Store for distribution and in-app purchases

These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. We only share what is necessary to provide Fortify's features.

8. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated cloud data by contacting us.

9. Your choices & rights

You can:

• Adjust privacy and notification settings inside the app
• Revoke Screen Time or usage access permissions in your device settings
• Sign out or delete your account
• Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your data

10. Children's privacy

Fortify is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard data using industry-standard practices.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Fortify after changes means you accept the updated policy.
